This week I booked off some time to study & write my exams (which I aced by the way! Yay!) and with this time off a friend suggested I go check out the Scandinave Spa.
Now my immediate response was “I don’t have time” and as soon as the words left my mouth I heard an alarm in my head go off. This is something I have truly been working on over the past 6 months, the illusion of time. We all have the same amount of time in day, it is simply our choice how we spend our it.
I have been busting my ass juggling two jobs, studying and working out so I decided to look at this in a option in a different way. Of course I could spend my day tackling my to-do list but the reality is, I do that everyday and when was the last time I had a day off? Months ago! When is the next time I will have a day off? Probably Christmas.
This led me to my decision to take a well deserved ME DAY. With the stress of school behind me, I was able to wind down and spend some quality me time. The Scandinave Spa is absolutely incredible, if you haven’t been I suggest you plan it asap! It is this lovely place hidden out in the forest which makes you feel like you are in the middle of no where with all the beautiful tall trees surrounding you.
The best part is… no phones and no talking allowed! Does the thought of that scare you? Or does it excite you?! Personally, I think this is wonderful and much needed in todays society. I spent my day in silence with only my thoughts. No media, no complaining, no negativity.. just complete bliss.
Being alone is something a lot of people fear, it can even make some uncomfortable. I look at alone time as a growing opportunity for my soul and I quite enjoy it! Today, while alone with my thoughts I was able to process everything that has been going on and let my inner-self speak to me.
In todays world everything is fast paced. We live in a time where everyone expects to get everything immediately. They expect answers yet don’t take the time to listen to themselves and find their true feelings. While laying in a hammock today staring at the blue sky above me, I once again found myself thinking of all the wonderful things I have to be grateful for.
This past year has be crazy busy but I am so blessed to have found my passion. Hard work now will pay off later when I am living my dream of helping others to improve their health and happiness. I am also so grateful that my passion was found by first meeting the most thoughtful, caring gentleman who stole my heart and swept me off my feet when I least expected it. People thought I was nuts for moving 3 hours north but let me tell you, this is the best decision I have ever made. I could not be more grateful that I get to wake up beside the one I love and take my dog for a morning walk with the fresh crisp air hitting my face. It is so refreshing being surrounded by nature instead of cement, sidewalks and miniature trees that were just planted to replace the 1000s that were all cut down.
I make spending quality time in nature a part of my priorities. It truly helps me in all aspects of life. Even with the winter slowly approaching you should make time to be outside and just breathe. You may find the answers you’ve been looking for.
