5 Months In…

It’s half way through May.. where has the time gone?! I don’t know about you, but these past 5 months have been hectic for me. Two jobs, finishing up my last semester of school and starting my own business has kept me busy to say the least! I feel as though I was on an emotional roller coaster and I have finally gotten off the ride.

This is Only the Beginning..

2 Week check in: Well, these past two weeks have been an absolute roller coaster (I am ready to get off anytime now, thanks). However, I am thrilled to see how many people have reached out and asked me questions about why I decided to go off the pill.

Time to Ditch the Pill!

Whaaaat? Thats right, I am finally free from that itty bitty pill that ruins our lives. You know, the one that toys with your moods, causes weight gain and decides exactly when you will get your period.

Be Kind!

REAL TALK: This is not a rant. It is simply words spoken from my heart that people need to hear! Women at work always seem to be hassling me for ‘being healthy’. Yesterday morning they had a big waffle breakfast for our recent achievements. I chose to go to the breakfast, and I simply chose not eat because although I appreciated the gesture from our boss and thought it would be nice to socialize, I didn’t want to eat what was being provided.

A Blissful Day

This week I booked off some time to study & write my exams (which I aced by the way! Yay!) and with this time off a friend suggested I go check out the Scandinave Spa. Now my immediate response was “I don’t have time” and as soon as the words left my mouth I heard an alarm in my head go off. This is something I have truly been working on over the past 6 months, the illusion of time. We all have the same amount of time in day, it is simply our choice how we spend our it.

AVOS, AVOS, GET YOUR AVOS!

Avocados were not a part of my upbringing. You would have never found one of these green things in our home. I honestly don’t think I even saw someone eating one until I was in Australia a few years ago. So don’t be afraid to try something new! Even if you tried one a few years ago and didn’t like it, try it again! Our taste buds evolve and sometimes you assume you dislike something just because of the way it was made or presented to you the first time.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a holiday I truly look forward to each year! With the leaves changing, it is an absolutely beautiful 3 hour scenic drive 'home' to see my family. As I sit here in the passenger seat mesmerized by all the magical colours around me, I find myself feeling grateful for all that I have experienced this year!
